J.O. Diggz 

 

 

A singer that’s not a singer? Indeed, J.O. Diggz is MORE than a singer, so much so that his singing prowess becomes a back-story to his true passions, writing and producing.  He’s a lyrical virtuoso with a lot to say. This Christiansburg, VA native adeptly writes and produces his own songs.  His lyrics are evocative, spawning dynamic visuals that tempt the vivid imagination.  He writes with purpose and substance.  His own scrupulous critic, J.O. describes the general lyrics of today as “condescending”. That being said, he is meticulous about creating lyrics that evoke emotions without “overstepping boundaries”.  As a consultative writer, he prides himself on generating lyrics to which his clients can relate. He approaches lyric writing as a conversation stating, “Artists sing better to what they can feel”.

 

On the production side of things, J.O. is no slouch.  His productions invite the listener into the ambient domain of his creation. His diligence and keen ear, coupled with experience and a spirit of ever learning, have earned him industry-worthy tunes.  He endlessly treats every production as a work in progress.  When working with clients, as with his songwriting, Diggz takes a consultative approach with his productions.  He derives the artist’s vision through consultative techniques and helps the artist bring clarity and structure to their vision, tailoring the final production to the artist’s unique need.

 

Oh yeah…and, yes, HE SINGS! While his primary career focus is not his finely tuned pipes, Mr. Diggz possesses a sultry voice that brings sweet, soul-hop sincerity to any song.  With kindred soul to artists like Raheem DeVaughn, John Legend or Jaheim, J.O. Diggz is definitely diverse enough to soul you down on one track and dance out your pop needs on the next.  To sum it up, on the performance side of things, Diggz sings, raps and potently delivers spoken word.  His talents compliment each other and he utilizes them masterfully in his own productions. 

His current project is a 12 track EP entitled “Live, Love, Lust”.  This compilation is filled with realistic “soundtrack to life” vibes.  Diggz handles topics like relationships, breakups, partying and you know, that feeling…when you want someone to come over (in fact that is the title of one of his songs).  This project promises to be an eclectic explosion of melodic enjoyment.  Look for it in the warmer months!
